Day 12 – Thursday March 21st-The Kluet People
Meditate on Ezekiel 36:24-30
24“ ‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. 25I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. 28Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God. 29I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and make it plentiful and will not bring famine upon you. 30I will increase the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field, so that you will no longer suffer disgrace among the nations because of famine.Â

Kluet are extremely proud of their heritage, language, and religion.
There are 50,000 Kluet in southern Aceh. The Kluet are friendly and open to visitors, but
they tend to keep to themselves. Most of the Kluet work in farming. They
produce rice, coffee, palm oil, nutmeg, and a variety of vegetables. Two
challenges that the Kluet are currently facing are problems with wild
elephants and dying nutmeg trees. The Kluet have sought outside help for
both of these problems without success. They are Muslim, but also mix in animistic beliefs. Some Kluet have rings that they believe have magical powers. Because the Kluet remain to themselves, and there are no churches close to them, most never hear the Gospel. We praise God for the work that is being explored among the Kluet in the past several years, and praise God for reports of first fruits among the Kluet.Â

-Pray for God to call workers to focus on reaching the Kluet.
-Pray for workers to receive divine strategy to creatively gain access to this people.
-Pray for the first-fruit Kluet believer who has heard the Gospel and come to faith! Pray that they would grow in their love and passion for Jesus and share with their friends and family.
-Pray that God will help workers to have wisdom to help with deep community-wide problems such as the wild elephants and dying nutmeg trees.
– We praise God that there are reports of some Kluet persons in proximity of believers who are studying the scriptures! Pray that that they would be drawn to the Father!
