Day 6-Friday March 15th- The Alas PeopleÂ
Meditate on 2 Peter 3:8-10
8But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
10But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.
Prayer Prompt
The Alas live in the southern part of Aceh province. The area where they live has many rivers, including the Alas River. The area of the Alas is also known as the “rice storehouse” of
Aceh. Most Alas villages are at high altitudes and many Alas are farmers or
raise livestock for a living. The Alas area is in great need of education and economic development as well. Hundreds of Alas live in the neighboring province of North Sumatra. Some live in North Sumatra for work and college, and some travel to North Sumatra twice a week as part of their job. There are hubs in Medan (North Sumatra) where the Alas people gather and these hubs provide opportunities for relationship building and sharing of the good news.

Prayer Points:Â
–  Pray for the Alas, that their land would be blessed and that they would have access to good education. 

–  Pray that the economy of the Alas area would grow, that kingdom-minded business-men and women would start God-glorifying companies that bring dignity to the Alas and help transform their communities. 

– Pray for the hearts of the Alas to be softened and readied to hear the good news of Jesus.
-Pray for those reaching out to the Alas in North Sumatra, that they would find people who are open to and wanting truth!
-We praise God for different works happening to get the word of God into the Alas language. Pray for story sets to be successfully crafted to better communicate the good news of Jesus.
