Prayer for Aceh

Asking God to do what only He can do in Aceh

Prayer Fuel

Day 16-Monday March 25th- Persons of Peace - Oikos

Meditate on Acts 16:11-15

11From Troas we put out to sea and sailed straight for Samothrace, and the next day we went on to Neapolis. 12From there we traveled to Philippi, a Roman colony and the leading city of that district of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days.

13On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there. 14One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. 15When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us.

Prayer Prompt

In movements that are happening across the world there is a consistent pattern emerging. The pattern is that it’s not just individuals that are coming into the kingdom. It is entire households. It is people’s parents and cousins and friends making decisions to follow Jesus. This is what Jesus was getting at when he talked about households of Peace. In Greek the word Oikos is used to describe this kind of social network.  A good way to pray for this is that God would raise up WOOLY people. W– welcoming, that they welcome the kingdom worker and invite them into their house and their life, to eat their food and to be a real part of their life. OO–  Open their Oikos, that the person is not only welcoming as an individual to the kingdom worker, but also that they open up their community to the kingdom worker and lastly Ly Listen. This person is not only welcoming, and opens their Oikos to the worker but also that they really listen to the words that are spoken about the Kingdom of God.

Prayer Points:

  • Pray that God would raise up more WOOLY people in Aceh.
  • Pray that entire communities and that many Oikos would be opened up to kingdom workers.
  • Pray for entire families to enter the kingdom of God together in Aceh.
  • Pray for the Oikos groups that are gathering, that they would have the vision to multiply and take the good news to other Oikos in other areas.

Praying as a group?
