Meditate on Acts 2:42-47
42They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Prayer Prompt
It’s not an April fool’s joke, God is building his church through these simple gatherings. Let’s think about it… What is a church? Is it a building? A time? A liturgy? Is it a set of rules or religious ceremonies we follow?  Or is it a people? This is a good question.  As groups of seekers discover God through His word and make decisions to follow Jesus, what comes next for the group? It is our prayer that they become a church. They will have already been practicing a lot of what the church does. With the discipleship and guidance of Kingdom workers and the leading of the Holy Spirit, our prayer is that they would become a local expression of the body of Christ.  As they go through scripture, as a group, they will learn what it means to be the church and they will be ready to obey what they read.Â
