Prayer for Aceh

Asking God to do what only He can do in Aceh

Prayer Fuel

Day 28–Saturday April 6th- The Haloban people

Meditate on Genesis 22: 15-18

5The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time 16and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, 18and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.” (Emphasis added)

Prayer Prompt

The Haloban people are a newly identified mini unengaged unreached people group (UUPG) in Aceh. The Haloban people only number 800 and live scattered across many islands (Pulau banyak) in southwest Aceh. There are no known workers trying to reach them.  Ethnographic researchers just completed a trip to this region to learn more about the people, their language, and their needs, but this information is not yet available.

Prayer Points:

  • The Haloban people are included in the promise that every tribe, tongue, nation, and family would have the gospel of the kingdom proclaimed to them and that there would be Haloban people worshiping Jesus around the throne!  Pray for this to be a reality now among the Haloban.
  • Pray for the ethnographers who just completed a research trip, that the Holy Spirit would guide their research to help us, the church, know how to best engage and bless the Haloban people.
  • Praise God that an Indonesian agency has committed to send two workers to the Haloban and that funds have been raised for the initial workers to engage this group.
  • As the organization is recruiting workers, pray for the workers to be raised up to go to the Haloban who live on very remote islands. Pray also for Christian-background peoples who live in the region to reach out to the Haloban.

Praying as a group?

Leading others in prayer is a great step in making disciples. We want to celebrate your and their faithfulness. For each person that prays with you, we will add 15 minutes to the 60 days of prayer committed so far.
